What does the internet know about you?

One of the more unnerving technologies I've seen in a while can be found at spokeo.com. Just try typing in your name. It works especially well, by the way, if you own property.

Dewey thought that knowledge was becoming liquid in 1900. Look where we are now...

I'd be more unnerved if the info was correct. It has me pegged as single and living with my parents, whose names are "unknown". That said, the liquidity of false information is disturbing too. I imagine a prospective employer checking me out and finding me living at home with my parents . . .

As for me, I'm happy to say that Spokeo hasn't yet extended itself to Canada...we're in the data-mining dark ages up here.
